Betty Kresin, Eminem's grandmother from the maternal side , got married at the age of 14. She got six children from 3 different marriages.
She first married Bob Nelson. She gave birth to her daughter Debbie in 1955.She accuses her first husband, Bob Nelson, of being verbally abusive. Both moved to Warren, Michigan, to be closer to Betty's stepmother .Despite the problems the couple experienced, she gave Bob two more sons, Todd and Steven. They divorced in the early 60's and Betty came back to her hometown St Joseph, where she met Ron Gilpin, her second husband. She had two more children with him. One of them is Betti Schmitt (Eminem's aunt and Debbie's half sister), who is still in touch and in good terms with Eminem. Ron Gilpin was an alcoholic who used to beat up his whole family. Violence was part of their daily life. Ron left his family in 1968.Dramas surrounded Betty's family. In 1991, Todd Nelson killed his brother-in-law, Mike Harris in self defense case. He was sentenced to jail for 8 years.Betty 's sixth child from a third marriage, Ronnie Polkingharn, was Eminem's uncle and closest friend. He committed suicide in 1991.
Eminem grew up for a while at his grandmom's home. She talks about his harsh conditions of living in Detroit :
« It was a poor school and they wanted his shoes. He was one of the only white children going to this segregated school. And one time they took the shoes off his feet and he had to come home in a snowstorm with no shoes on. But the story people keep asking me - "he was unconscious and almost died and all these doctors...", now I know nothing about this and I'm his grandmother. »
People should think twice before calling Marshall a racist.
Betty was angry with Marshall because he never attended to Ronnie's funeral. In fact, Marshall went depressive and swallowed a bottle of Tylenol and survived to another suicide attempt. He was unable to go to Ronnie's funeral, his pain was too immense. But Betty didn't know what happened during this period.
"I was kind of bitter about him writing about my dead son, because the last five years of my deceased boy, Marshall had not even seen him. Marshall - Eminem - and my son Ronnie were very close. He idolised Ronnie and Ronnie loved him. He never even came to Ronnie's funeral and he has never put the first flower on Ronnie's grave. He doesn't do anything - he won't go near the grave. The chain that Marshall wears around his neck, the dog-tag - that was Ronnie's. I gave him the dog-tag, he makes duplicates, he sells them now, and that really broke my heart because this is something sacred to me that I gave the boy. If my son could speak to you today from the grave he would say, "Marshall stop some of the garbage, make up with your family, life's too short"."
Marshall had a good relationship to his granny until he wanted to use Ronnie's voice on a tape. He intended to do this as a tribute to his deceased uncle, but Betty thought he was disrespectful towards her son. In 2002 , both reconciled.

After the purchase of a beautiful iron selonding gamelan set, a duplicate of the ancient 10th century set from Besakih Temple, Mekar Bhuana Conservatory has immersed itself serious selonding study. And many students in the conservatory are keen to learn. This is because this is the first set of this kind in South Bali, and little is known about this rare style of selonding orchestra. In fact, there are only a few duplicate sets of this rare style of selonding. The most common type of selonding outside of the village or temple context is the Tenganan style. This type of set has just 40 relatively small size keys with 8 instruments, some of them overlapping in tones. The Besakih set has a tuning modeled on the Bugbug (Karangasem) style but with instrumentation like Selat (Karangasem). It has 48 keys and a different instrumentation from the Tengangan style wtih 12 sound boxes each with 4 keys. This means that the whole set can be used in two differing formations: Bugbug and Selat. However, the complicated more modern patterns that are often heard played in the Tenganan style cannot be replicated exactly on the Mekar Bhuana set due to the different placement of keys and the sheer size of the instruments. The large instruments (nearly double the size of modern Tenganan models) dictates that the music be slower and more stately – refined ('alus' in Balinese).

Mekar Bhuana's selonding set was made in Denpasar at Tapa Karya, and was the last set of selonding instruments made by the famous blacksmith Sri Mpu Ketut Sandi. Like the Besakih set, the tuning was modeled on the Bugbug set, but due to a discrepancy in the regularity of the tuning between each instrument, the tuning was altered slightly according to the taste of Mekar Bhuana Co-founder, Vaughan Hatch. To increase awareness of and exposure to this beautiful art-form and the orchestra, Mekar Bhuana has opened selonding lessons for the general public of all ages. A minimum of 6 people are needed to play the instruments, with a maximum of 8 when playing gambang style music.Mekar Bhuana has engaged a young teacher from Karangasem, Pande Widiana, whose father is a selonding guru, and whose great uncle, Sri Mpu Tusan, is an authority on selonding in Bali and Java: author of a 535-page book on selonding that was published in 2002. Sri Mpu Tusan is the founder of the Selonding Foundation (Yayasan Selonding) which actively studies, documents and reconstructs selonding sets all over Bali. So far, the foundation has reconstructed more than four sets under the guidance of Sri Mpu Tusan and with funding from the Karangasem Regional Government.
When Mekar Bhuana's selonding set was blessed in early January 2012, when young members of Yayasan Selonding (boys and girls around 10-12 years old) played the set. Mekar Bhuana recorded the ceremony and the music for posterity. The group played repertoire from five different villages in Karangasem and Bangli: Bugbug, Bungaya, Ngis Manggis, Tenganan, Kedisan and Batur. The music was serene and peaceful, yet powerful and mystical.
Mekar Bhuana hopes that through education and study more people will soon have the opportunity to appreciate the surreal beauty of these ancient art-forms.

Some songs are written for a reason and some are written for praise. There are songs that dont talk about love exactly but they surely talk about the intention that is involved in it.  This is a song that talks about the feeling that a guy has for a girl. Why is it that he desires her so much and what makes her different from the others? In a world where everyone wears a mask of dual personalities this song serves as a great analogy to bring down that curtain and speak about real beauty.
The song has been written and performed by British-Irish boy band one direction. This is a debut single for their first studio album up all night. This reception of this song has been quite good with very positive reviews from critics. This song mainly scored points with the audience for it production, chord work, appeal and sensibility making it a very preferred number. The video of this of this song is very popish. It shows one direction on Malibu beach. This group has performed this song on numerous television shows. What makes you beautiful lyrics has won the best British single award 2012.

One direction the group that wrote this song finished third on the seventh season of X Factor in 2010. The sheet of music for what makes you beautifullyrics was published right after the release of the song. This song has been written in a tempo of 120 beats per minute and in the key of E-Major. It follows a simple chord progression E-A-B and the vocal range varies from B3 to G#5. The song mainly has a lot of electro-pop influences. The melodic resemblance of this song has been compared to a lot of different classics hence it has also added to its success. The song starts off with the guy asking the girl why is she insecure and he cant understand it. He also refers to heads tuning when she enters the room. According to this guy she is so beautiful that she doesnt need any makeup. He also asks her to be herself and appreciate the way she is and not change. This song contains two verses and a bridge with the chorus being repeated once after every verse. The chorus is really the high point of this whole song because it talks about appreciation and how a girl can influence a guys life with her charms.

You can find what makes you beautiful lyrics on the internet and also a lot of other similar songs from this artist. One of the most important things to understand about this song is that its a song that you can sing anytime at a party and also at any function. You can just pick up the guitar and strum the chords of this song and people will recognize it. Most of the other songs of this artist are also very easy to listen to and have good melodies.

Music therapy utilizes numerous different techniques to treat emotional, psychological, and physical disorders. Brain Music Therapy (BMT), a relatively new treatment in the field, and consumers due to its unusual application of neurobiofeedback, which employs technology, brainwaves and piano music. BMT's very impressive cure rate has garnered scientific and media interest as well.

BMT is an evidence-based music therapy treatment used to relieve symptoms of insomnia, stress, anxiety, depression and attention deficit disorders. Recent cases of the therapy's successful use for the treatment of alcohol and drug dependence expands BMT's use as a therapeutic tool. BMT uses sophisticated technology and a complicated formula to translate an individual's brain waves into musical compositions.

BMT was the result of contributions from neurophysiologists, mathematicians and clinicians working under the direction of Dr. Iakov Levine, in 1991, at the Medical Academy in Moscow. Soon after the initial organization of the the therapy's principle structure, several other researches and scientists contributed additional resources to the evolving therapy.

Dr. Galina Mindlin, MD, PhD, a Professor of Psychiatry at Columbia University, was an early proponent of BMT, and is one of the first practitioners to apply the therapy in the United States. Dr. Mindlin explains that the musical compositions culled from brain waves and matching frequencies produce sounds that "resemble classical piano music."

In BMT, an individual's brainwaves are converted into musical notes using 36 notes from three piano octaves. The musical compositions are transferred onto compact disc or MP3 files. Patients listen to the recordings at prescribed intervals to induce changes in pathological brain patterns. As a form of biofeedback, BMT dislodges and re-patterns a patient's conditioned behavior through repetition and mindful practice.

Two compositions are created to represent an excited state and a relaxed state. The relaxing composition is 10 to 12 minutes in length, and is used to help patients rest and to decrease levels of anxiety. When used while sleeping, the composition improves quality of sleep. The active piano composition is significantly shorter at only 2 to 3 minutes. Patients use the shorter composition to become more alert and to elevate mood.

In the report, "Your Playlist Can Change Your Life," Dr. Mindlin explains that musical exposure not only increases peaceful or aroused emotional and psychological states, music even has an observable effect on pain, especially when combined with imagery chosen by a therapist along with the patient. Images that closely match the mood of the musical composition create reinforcement of new thought patterns and are an essential part of the therapy. Patients also keep detailed notes about milestones reached during therapy to increase BMT's effectiveness.

Recent studies published in the Journal of Neurotherapy substantiate earlier reports of the therapy's efficacy and scientists are now researching why the brain responds so efficiently and effectively to changes induced by the tones of piano music. BMT continues to remain on the cutting edge of musical therapy and is the subject of new scientific studies in populations of first responders with higher-than-average stress levels, such as policemen and firefighters.

If you love the sound of a piano alone or in concert with other musical instruments, it's certain all of the musical genres from classical to Ragtime, will be a part of a music lover's collection. The lilting sound of 88 keys inspires and has been known to soothe jangled nerves and alleviate the symptoms of pain.

What Beethoven, Chopin and Mozart Knew

Great musical sound from a musical instrument is ever evolving. At first, there were stringed instruments. Then, the wonderful sound of the harpsichord and a pump-organ recorder. Pianists found an upright or Baby Grand had the tonal quality that helped them create amazing symphonies. When the pace of life began to advance, the upright found its place in country, jazz and rock styles until the electronic keyboard added a whole new dimension. What Beethoven, Chopin and Mozart knew was the elegance only the sound of fingers striking a keyboard could create.

And Then Came Scott Joplin

Among the modern pianists, a style known as Ragtime began in the early part of the 1900's. The tinkling sound and heavy notes combined to form a jazzy rhythm that inspired a new musical rage that was a major influence in the early 1920's and 30's. Scott Joplin is among the major influences of this era. Ragtime waned after World War II and a new era of pianists played Big Band sounds. By the 1950's, Rock N' Roll took over the musical scene. Some of the most famous musicians rocked their fans with sounds of New Orleans, Doo Wop and Jazz.
Once A Musician, Always A Musician

Learning to play chords is the point at which most pianists determine whether their talent is up to the rigors of developing their signature style and unique techniques. Pianists today still consider their instrument essential to a great musical piece. Without doubt, the most contemporary pianists, Billy Joel, Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen , focus their performing writing and recording talents around their instrument. Many rock guitarists work out their musical compositions on a piano before they move to guitar or electronic keyboards. This proves to be a reliable insurance of the correct sound quality as well as a guide to creative musical composition.

The "Rach Three"

There are many musical pieces pianists spend a lifetime attempting to play. One of the most difficult for a pianist to play and the most pleasing to the ear is the Rachmaninoff Symphony Number Three. Pianists call this the "Rach Three". In some segments of this piece, the sound is almost thunderous and in contrast in other segments it is quite the opposite. Rach Three requires intense study. The many variations in this piece is why pianists find it so difficult to play.

Drink In The Sound

The extraordinary sound of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata is an amazing effort especially since the pianist Beethoven was losing his eyesight. This type of musical talent is prevalent in others like Shostakovich and Mozart. Musicians love to borrow and re-adapt certain movements from their classical ancestors. These re-adaptations can be heard in part in Rolling Stones if a listener has a good background in both classical and rock musical styles. Having a good background in varied musical styles is a big advantage in evaluating the talents, experience and skills of a pianist whether the musical style is classical or modern. The enjoyment of listening and drinking in the sound is the added pleasure of the pianist and your musical experience.
